A Green Dress

Hello all! This outfit was one that I considered for Easter, but it wasn't warm enough then.  It was warm enough this weekend, though! I got this little green dress while thrift shopping this winter, and as you can imagine I've been so impatient to finally get to wear it! It's home made, and while the style looks vintage to me I'm not convinced that the dress is.  Regardless, I love it!

The shoes are my Swedish Hasbeens knock-offs from Urban Outfitters.  They are MUCH more affordable, and the also have a lower heel, which I like.  Being a relatively tall girl (I'm 5'9"), I rarely wear heels.  When I do I end up feeling like I'm towering over everyone, so I usually opt for flats.  That was definitely the selling point for these shoes.  Are you a heels or flats gal? Oh, and I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

  1. Very cute outfit! And I indentify with the heel thing, I'm 5"8 so, heels make me ginormous as well! :) I like the ones you have!

  3. Ohh I love your dress, no wonder you were dying to wear it!! Such a lovely colour for spring. I am a bit of a heels girl but only because I am quite short and heels give me the ability to wear long hemlines (which I adore) without looking too stumpy! xxx

  4. i love your shoes! i got a pair of the swedish hasbeens x h&m sandals as they're so, so much cheaper, but they've got quite a big heel on them.

  9. Pretty, pretty! Your new sandals are cute and they look comfy-- I know what you mean about towering over other people-- I'm almost 5'10" so we're in the same boat! Almost every single time I wear heeels I get a comment on my height, but I've gotten used to it and now I wear heels whenever I don't have to walk too far(but I sure do love my flats as well!).

  10. This is the perfect springtime outfit! And I can never decide between heels or flats. At 5'7, I'm neither tall nor short, so it usually just comes down to my mood. I lean toward rather long dresses and skirts, so I seem to reach for heels more often than flats, though.

(And a good friend--and one of the most brilliant people I've met--went to Clarion, so you're certainly in good company! I really love the PA State System.)

  12. definitely all about the low heels! i am 5'8 and my bf is about the same height as me, so wearing heels feels awkward to me. i almost really really want to go get these shoes now! what is that actual heel height on them?

  13. I wish I was as tall as you ^^ but I can understand the height thing. That'd get old real quick.
