In February 2006 a friend of mine received Teen Vogue magazine in place of her monthly YM, and she was furious. She brought the new magazine to school (I was a senior in high school) and ranted to me while I flipped through its pages. I was instantly hooked. My favorite feature was always the checklist on the last few pages which showcased various fashion finds in a manner similar to Polyvore. Admittedly, I am still a fan today, even though my subscription expired last summer.
In February 2008, they featured a spread entitled My Funny Valentine which remains my favorite to date. I somehow ended up with two copies of that issue, and in college these images were tacked to my dorm walls along with other looks I favored. There's something so whimsical and innocent about these photos. The setting is so romantic, the clothes are so timeless and classic, and the models are so adorable together. I just had to share this with you while it's still February. I turn to it for inspiration every spring!
OMG. OMG.
ReplyDeleteSo... this is probably MY favorite spread of all time as well!! I'm serious. This one and the Kate Spade Bisbee ad campaign from a few years back are my faves. I feel very connected with you right now. Ha!
teenvogue is great. Its like vogue without the massive ad overload and the overly-sexualized-to-the-point-of-just-being-exhausting articles and outfits.
ReplyDeleteLOOOVE these photos!!!
ReplyDeletethis is one of my all-time favourite teen vogue editorials too!
ReplyDeleteooh, what an amazing editorial. I am totally in love, loving all of those beautiful outfits. Must add to my inspiration folder! xx veronika

ReplyDeleteI like teen vogue better than regular Vogue, it's got more relevant stuff to offer in my opinion (and I'm in my 30s! ha!) btw, your blog got a little makover, didn't it? looking good!

I love this. I never saw the spread, but I probably would have saved it if I had. I must say that the boy is so out modeling the girl though. Scene stealer.
